Section I.
PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION

a. Jacks is usually played one on one, but you can have more players for a more fun game.

b. No matter how they are thrown, a caltrop always lands to rest on three of its spikes, with a dangerous fourth spike in the air.

c. Scatter the jacks evenly, not too close together and not too far apart.

d. These defensive weapons puncture vehicle or aircraft tires, disable tank treads, or otherwise slow an assault.

e. Any creature that enters the area must succeed on a DC 15 dexterity saving throw or stop moving and take 1 piercing damage.

f. Until the creature regains at least 1 hit point, its walking speed is reduced by 10 feet.

g. Don’t forget to gather all jacks when finished playing. They are a hazard for bare feet!
